[62 Cal2d Page 235] TRAYNOR, C.J. Petitioner was charged by information with unlawful possession of narcotics (Health & Saf. Code, § 11500) and with a prior conviction for the same offense. On February 19, 1962, represented by retained counsel, he withdrew a plea of not guilty and pleaded guilty to the charge. On May 3, 1962, he again appeared with counsel and the court entered a judgment of conviction, found the prior conviction true, and sentenced him to prison. He did not appeal.
